I was itching to try out my new brushes, and play with some typography (if you can call it that). Although i new i wanted to write something i had no idea what. So sticking to the traditional technique i use for naming my textures, i wrote the first thing that came to me - a string of lyrics of a T(I)NC song (and i got it wrong im sure).
Regardless of what the correct lyrics are, this was just a sandbox session...
This is terrific ( even if you did say it's sandbox ) - you are so great with
colors and textures !!!! The type is interesting - part of it looks a little
like metal, part looks like it's disappearing into the background and part
of it looks like it's carved out of rock. I especially like the "us" with the
way you offset the tops of the letters ( plus the fact that they can stand
for "us" or "U.S." ). Nice work - I'm making this a favorite.
Excellent effect! Twil be good to see what you get up to with typography. I suspect you will do very well at it.
And yes, the last century did promise so much:
20th century: women's suffrage and emancipation, the triumph of non-violent reistance (Gandhi, Martin Kuther King), democratisation, sexual revolution, the green awakening.
Awesome typographical stuffs. I'd like to be able to do stuff like that, I mostly do plain text. Text has an awesome feel to it, and blends in nicely with the background which is also great.
A continuation of my unexpectedly-popular guide on Mary Sue prevention. Feedback and support is completely welcomed! Thank you all for your support so far.
Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
