~phunkdust and myself (`thespook incase you didn't notice) went and visited an old brickworks. It hasn't been used in a long time, and it was quite an experience walking through and seeing all the old machinery and discarded things. The cool thing was that although it must have been a long time ago when it was closed down, it still had that 'just gone' look about it - upturned chairs and tables and discarded documents... just older and with more dust and weather around them.
holler at me if the shadows are too dark, one monitor of mine says it's fine the other says it's pitch black... i don't know which one to trust. some post prod in ps too. |

...it's not a .bmp - it's a jpeg.
are you using IE? i know sometimes when you save images in IE it saves them as bmp's for some reason - maybe that's why it appeared to be a .bmp for you
theres a few ways you could fool around with this and force different lighting effects.
as for brightness it looks pretty good on my monitor which is properly matched.
